Love Egg & Yummy Cheesecake

It has been a while since I made this very yummy but super fattening non-bake pineapple cheesecake.... It's really simple to do just mix marie biscuit or digestive biscuit with butter as base crust. Blend cream cheese, Nestle cream, pineapple juice, gelatin, sugar and pineapple. When I was doing it last evening, Ezra stood by watching it, he kept asking to taste it!! He licked clean the spoon aft use!! Here's the end product!!

I have seen Angie & MK blog abt making different shaped hard boiled egg which was so amazing to me & many times when I was at Diaso, I just cant find the egg shaper!! We were at IMM & went to Diaso, again tried looking for it but failed.. just when I was abt to give up, I spotted a pack (1 heart & 1 star) which was hanging on the rack among all wrong things!! Someone left it there by mistake & I found it!! God You are so good!! I quickly pay for it...
Once I got home, cant wait to try it.... while boiling the egg, I added some food colouring to the water, hoping to have coloured egg... but that failed (coloured only @ the crack line)!! Anyway, peeled the shell, put it into the mold & soak it in iced water. The result.... not to bad! I am keeping this for Ezra's bkf tml!!

Hot Pot

Remember some time i blog abt a horible mini hotpot? Last evening, my MIL had cravings for hotpot so off we went to the famous Hainanese Steamboat with chicken rice at Golden Mill. Its really good with meat slices, sea cucumber, fish maw, veg etc... unlike many that has processed food items.
Ezra finished an almost full soup bowl of chicken rice, meat, soup & veg!! Well done son!

Its was a good & satisfying meal... after dinner, Ezra con nai nai to give him money for his car ride!!

Goodbye Nan, Kwai, Neville & Kerryn

Its a sad day for my family... today my sis family is going away to Shanghai for at least 2-3 yrs...

We were at the airport T3 abt 8.15am, many came to send them off, Kwai family, Nan's family, their CG, Sandy, Kerryn's good pals from sch, Neville teacher, Lai Kuan & Brian.... shld have abt 50 odd persons. People were just moving ard & sending their well wishes. Pic were taken & its time to go in.... Hugs were exchanged and tears flowing.... I really dislike these kind of sending off...

Even as I write on my blog, my tears are rolling down... Goodbye Kwai, Nan, Neville & Kerryn... all the best & may God's peace and grace rest upon you as your journey to a new land and adventure. We will be missing you BIG time.

Finally! A Home of our own! Details...

Yes yes very excited that we finally going to have a home of our own.....

We have been looking ard for HDB near church cos I am working there & Ezra has started going to school there. Right now, Ezra goes to my sis place near church after school but she is moving away next year which explains why we are desperate to buy one soon, although we know the current mkt may not be the best time to buy!!

We make a list of what are some must have's for our new home....
1. near church
2. within 1km from St Andrews (since we are moving might as well plan ahead)
3. corner unit
4. 4 room
5. lift landing

Started searching thru classified but eventually engaged an agent.... went to view quite a few units, everyone we see is a potential!! We saw a unit at Potong Pasir, high level, offered 25k, owner still not keen to sell, looking for 40k. I was very disappointed when agent told us to give up on that unit. Viewed another unit at St George's 2nd flr, nice unit but realised outside 1km from St Andrews. I was disappointed again & almost wanted to buy out of desperation... but Jac insisted to the agent that we want to see another unit before deciding. A good friend, Brian shared with us abt his experience buying his home, he remembered knowing that house was his once he stepped into it & that God will keep that house for you.

On Sunday, agent mgt to fix a viewing for another unit at Potong Pasir immediately aft service. Its a 2nd flr unit. Once we stepped in, walked to the kitchen, it was almost like our dream kitchen, a semi island concept, a wet area for laundry, a built in oven & even a small table for eating!! As we walked to other rooms the more we liked it! The whole place is so well renovated and well kept!!

After we left the house, agent told us that the owners are asking for 50k above valuation!! Considering the amt of work done & really no need for renovation, 50k is quite reasonable but we dont have that kind of $$!! Told agen to offer what we can afford so he went back to house while we waited at the playground. During that time, sms close friends & family to pray & claimed that house for us. Agent came back, told us that they have another 2nd viewing by interested family at 2pm and will see after that!!

We went back to church for a meeting & they prayed that God would grant us favour & the desires of our heart. After the meeting, together with Lai Kuan & Brian decided to go in faith to Josephine place in Potong Pasir & wait for agent call. 2nd viewing was fixed at 4.30pm. When we got there, took a critically look ard & made final offer & it was ACCEPTED!! We were a little surprised & aft the signing of some option to purchase, the lady owner was telling us that although price a bit low, but she prefered us compared to other family and decide to sell!!

Truely God's favour was with us and we witness God working throughout this!! I was so glad Jac refused to compromise & God certainly did not short change us, all our list were met except lift landing but on 2nd flr, who needs a lift!!

God, You are so good... Thank you Jesus!!

Finally! A Home of our own!

Just want to share that by the grace of God, on the 12th Oct 2008 Sunday, we have finally manage to get a place we can call our home.

Viv is especially excited, and I'm just waiting for the day to come when we can move in. hehehe.

Ezra love the place too, so that kind of makes it easier for us.

Well, for the details, I will leave it to Viv to share with you all. =D

Family Time

We dont feel like going out for dinner this evening so I cooked seafood horfun. Aft dinner, we sat together & watched Veggie tales. It was the story of Daniel who refused to bow to the king & was thrown into the lion dens. Ezra sat on my lap, with him close to me, I told him some of the 'truth' and explain the story to him. Jac also contributed and told him abt staying true to God & He will protect us. It was such a warmth moment & I really treasured such times. It is both our prayers and Ezra would grow up knowing God and fllowing His ways and staying in God's plans for his life. What we can do now is to plant and water these seeds in his life.

1st Speaking Assignment

Haha I had my 1st speaking assignment with a gp called "Mothers of Pre-schoolers". They wanted me to share on this topic "Preparing Your Child for Pre-school". It was a nice cosy group of mummies at 1 of the members home in SengKang.... Her place is tastefully done with a very English country concept.... nice!!

The sharing went ok, 2 mummies asked more questions than others as they have kids going to pre-school..

It was a good experience for me...

Too Young for F1 race??

Well with all the craze abt F1 race, the children in kdgn also had they share bit of F1.... everyone had their very own racing cars with painted wheels!!

Getting ready....
Flag off... Brrm Brrm
Hey, be careful dont get into my lane...

Quick Update

Last 2 weeks has been so crazy... very busy with the preparation of Canaan Funfair on Oct 1 to celebrate church & kindergarten anniversay as well as Childrens' Day. A lot of work was put into organizing this. The event was a big success. We were kind of worried when it poured so heavily the night before but come Oct 1... it was cloudy with much breeze!! It was perfect weather. Everyone from church & kindergarten came to help out. It was such a thrilling feeling to see many working together. An estimated over 200 adults + 200 children + 80 teens came for the event!!

For me, it was a good opportunity to mingle with parents and the community!!

After this event, I finally relax and settle back to normal routines & suddenly realised that my trusty administrator last day will be coming Tues!! My pinic button is now on. So much things to do & think!!

Ezra's cough is on & off for almost 1 month liao... we tried chinese medi most times for this round but my patience is getting thin so finally decided to bring him to Dr Tan. Thank God his lungs & ears are cleared but he does have a fairly congested nose which is the trigger for the cough especially in the night!! Praying and claiming complete healing for Ezra, Amen!!

Ezra has been exposed to much Bible songs and he is singing so much these days. He is constantly huming and singing praises to God!! I had to lead worship for Kids Church on Sunday, while I was preparing & listening to songs, Ezra joined me and even followed me witht he actions!! I treasured such times with him.

We have been house hunting, gone some viewing of flats in church area and even at Potong Pasir. Really like a unit in Potong Pasir offered them 25k COV but agent informed us that ower rejected the offer.... kind of feeling sad...

Ezra on MC

*sighs* For the last 2 days, Ezra have been staying at home resting. Some how his persistent cough is still with him and is also having a bit of running-nose.

Just this morning, he was actually asking to go school. So I have to tell him to take his medication and get well soon before he can return to school. He is actually quite good liao. Only fussing when his cough gets bad and cough till he want to vomit out. Just praying that he will get well soon.

Ezra the Little Chef

Its day 6 of Ezra's pre-school. He must be really tired cos he went to bed at 7.30pm last evening & slept through until this morning.

Well breakfast is Chee Cheong Fun for Ezra & Jac has extra rice dumpling & soon kuai.
Our kindergarten is having Little Chef week as a leanring experience for the children. They are doing Pizza Bread & Ezra wasted no time in cutting up all the ingredients. When the teacher offered to help, he kindly refused "No need, i can cut myself!"
He is enjoying the fruit of his labour!!
It was so funny, I wanted to take a picture with Ezra & asked the teacher to help, immediately some of his classmates dashed forward!!

Day 6 of Pre Nursery

Yippeee!!! I'm so happy!

Finally! Ezra is able to walk in to his school without making any fuss or crying like there is no tomorrow. He just walk in to his school and hold his teacher's hand. So happy!

Of cos, must thank God too. Without Him things surely won't go so smoothly. hehehe.

Day 4 of PreNursery

I felt so bad having to wake Ezra up so early in the morning cos I need to be in school by 7.45am but we have not mgt to be on time yet!!

Anyway, Ezra is coping well with having to wake up early. He would not fuss much, drink his milk, brush his teeth, take a quick shower & change into his uniform. It was strange, he refused to wear his Huggies pull ups & only want his usual pet pet diapers!

Here is Jac & Ezra's bkf!
Ezra is still quite sticky to his daddy & me when he 1st step into school. He did ok during temp taking but once in the hall, he asked to be carried. Like yesterday, teacher took him

despite his protest!! After going to the toilet, the class went out for a walk. They are learning abt transportation & the teachers brought them to the roads & even on the lorry!!He was very happy with his new friends & even tried to communicate with each other!!Last stop was the HDB playground when he had a blast!!

Day 3 of Pre-Nursery

Today is Ezra's third day at the Nursery. I must say he did very well especially since it is the first day after the weekend.

Upon arriving at the school compound he started to be a bit sticky to daddy again. But I stay firm and told him to walk in to his class and promise to hold his hand. Manage to bring him all the way to the entrance where they check the temperature and signs of HFMD. After that he started to be a bit more fussy.

So no choice but to stay and talk to him for awhile. Finally manage to get him to go put down his water bottle and bag. And it was at that moment the teacher take over. However, a few seconds later he spotted his mummy and start to cry for her. End up the teacher have to carry him away to pacify him. At this point, the daddy have to take the que and leave school.

Overall, I would say he did well for the third day. Well done Son!

Ezra's first two days attending Pre Nursery

Ezra was supposed to start attending his pre nursery class this week. However, due to his little episode of vomiting on Sunday nite, we decided to let him stay home first.

On Wednesday he is much recovered after the 3 days of 'resting' at home. So we decide to let him attend class on Thursday. The last two days was very trying for us both. Especially so when he still cough quite badly at night when he sleep.

His fussy mode begin the moment he reach school and being super sticky to his daddy. However, after the assembly and with the help of the teachers distracting him, he is able to settle well into the class.

Now, must cross fingers and hope that he will be must better next week.

I am a pre-schooler now!!

Mummy & daddy has been telling that I am starting school in Term4. But I had too much fun & junk at Austin Hills and was coughing very badly so mummy had to keep me at home. But on Thursday, mummy thinks I am fit for school.

Mummy got up early to prepare my breakfast which I ate in the car ride to school, Canaan Church Kindergarten.
Daddy was with me the last 2 days. I was constantly saying to daddy "Daddy carry me".
I was really sobby during the praise time & insist that daddy stay by my side & refused to join the rest of the children. Today, daddy even had to bring me 1 side to 'lecture' me. After that my teacher carried me away despite my protest!! After that daddy disappeared into the toilet for the longest time!! I was ok after a while but stick to my teacher all day!!
I did some colouring today in class, I sat right in front of my teacher. She was telling me a joke & I laughted!! I am starting to enjoy going to school!!
I am listening very closely to my teacher!! We are getting ready to go home!! Yeah yeah maybe I will cry again on Monday...

Austin Hills Golf & Resort

This is our second time to Austin Hills for our Hun family retreat. The first was 2 years back as a farewell before Esther's family leave for NZ, now it's for Nancy's family.
Austin Hill is only 30 mins drive from Woodlands checkpoint so its really very convenient for our family of 24 pax!!
We drove in on Fri & arrived at Austin abt 3pm. Some of us went shopping at the nearby Jusco, while the rest look see all the children in the pool!!

This trip is very much a eating trip!! You cant imagine the amt of food our family ate!! Anyway, we drove out to some wolu place for seafood.... Its really not the everyday seafood place you find in S'pore. All their food are fresh & swimming in the ponds, nets or tubs!!

The kids were very excited cos its their 1st time seeing such a sight!!

While the kids pick their seafood, the adults are ordering dishes direct by pointing at the items itself!!

Check out the BIGGEST cockles ever seen... thats a medium sized prawn!!

We had a traditional bak kut teh & prata bkf 1 day & stayin bkf of bread & instant noodles that were so look forward by the children!!
The rooms are HUGE with 2 king size beds & lots of space left & we did tons of things in there!!

1. Watch DVD together in the evening
2. All the young girls had their nails painted by yiyi Linda
3. We even had wine with cheeze & snow skin mooncakes
4. Play badminton
Viv: Son thats not a guitar, its a badminton racket & the shuttlecock.

Ezra: Ok mummy now I know... see I can also play badminton....oops where did the shuttle cock goes?
Everyone : Hahaha Nadine strike a pose!! The kids cant drink wine but they tried theirhands at opening their sparkling juice!!
Everyday was packed with activities. Table tennis, badminton, bowling & even improvised slide!!
Even my mum joined us in the bowling but cant comment much abt her style!! She was so funny, starting watching us from the benches, slowly made her way to the lanes & 'refused' to let go & just bowled a couple of times & we dont have the heart to ask her to stop!!
Ezra cant bowl but he could still have fun turning the balls on the stand!! Nayda is a show off.. she chose to walk many steps on this trip & everyone clapped for her!! It's time to hit the pool... Thank God for the beautiful weather, the kids were able to swim everyday while we were there!! They had a blast with the slides & water gun fight. Even our cute newest addition to the family, baby Rene had her first dip in the pool. She was so excited seeing the kids having fun. When Healin mummy was changing her into swim gears, she was simply grinning!! Look at her in the pool on her float!!
Well Ezra had too much FUN on this trip & eating too much rubbish!! He coughed badly after we returned & vomitted!!

Hun's Mooncake

It has been a family tradition for our sisters to get together to make pineapple tarts for CNY, ba chang and mooncakes. It not only saves us money but also a good time to catch up and fellowship. This year has been very difficult to get everyone together cos all of us were so busy!! Finally date was set & we gathered at Nancy's place to make the snowskin & brown skin mooncakes. I was supposed to take pictures but once we get started with work, all else was forgotten!!

But here are the end products...
Double yolk brown skin lotus mooncake

Snow skin mini & Blueberry nata

Dinner # 5

Well this is my 'last' dinner this week cos we are heading for Austin Hill, JB tml with all my Hun family troop (total of 26 pax). Its a farewell trip to send off my third sis, Nancy & family. Its really sad & we are going to miss them BIG time...they are so much a part of our lives! My brother in law had a posting to Shanghai & they are leaving in Oct once Neville finished his PSLE.
Since its my last dinner, decided to make it elaborate with 3 dishes...

1. Sweet corn soup
2. Herbal chicken tigh
3. Chinese cabbage w beef (left over)

Ezra was really hungry & asked to be seated on his high chair QUICK!! I opened his portion of herbal chicken & he went "Wow, thank you mummy" Hearing that just melts my heart, he has been so appreciative of the effort I put in. We all finished our food & Jac did the washing up of dishes which i hated!! Thanks darling.

I really enjoyed getting into the kitchen & cooking meals for my loved ones...

Fidgets

We have promised Ezra that we will bring him to indoor playground, Fidgets someday during the holidays & today should be it!! We thot he may like the company of his favourite Nana jie jie, Nadine jie jie & Janek. I got up early abt 7am to prepare food for the kids. Being there once, I know that near lunch hour, people will start leaving so I decide to make some burger bento, eggs, peas & fruits for them to eat so we can continue to play w/o leaving the premises.
Nana was all ready to go when she saw all the huge climbers!! She tried most things & had the most fun!! Nadine was also ready but after she took the 1st plunge down the long fast slide, she started to show some reluctance. But she would still try most things just cos I asked her (very sweet nature) but insist only once!! Ezra was much better this round & willing to try most climbers but wld always stop at the last platform & back track!! However, he grew to love ball pit! He would even jump into it!!
Well done son!!
Janek needed more time to warm up to the place but the balls worked marvelous for him. He would just pick up blue balls!! He was so tickled when we started throwing balls at each other & joined in readily. He dont really like riding in the car but prefers to be pushing it from behind!!

The kids on different slides. Nana on the long, fast one, Nadine on the covered tube, Ezra & Janek on the kiddo mininature ones. On the climbers.

In the ball pit!!

The 2 sisters rocking each other to sleep!!

After 3 over hours of play, we decided to head home cos the kids are showing signs of tireness!! After dropping Janek home, all the 3 other kids knocked out in the car!! Ezra slept & just woke up abt 5pm!!

This is my online journal of things, events, happenings in my life. This will also be a online inheritance I leave for my dearest hubby Jacky & lovely son, Ezra.
